Status 03.12.2024 - At CIB, we consider it our responsibility to protect your data and privacy. As a German company based in Munich, we have always been subject to one of the strictest data protection laws in the world.
We use the highest security standards for processing and storing data. CIB collects and uses your personal data exclusively within the framework of legal provisions such as the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and the German Federal Data Protection Act ("BDSG"). With this privacy policy, we aim to inform you about the nature, scope, and purposes of the collection, use, and processing of your personal data by CIB when you use the CIB crowdsourcing platform. Our crowdsourcing platform offers you various opportunities to complete tasks aimed at improving AI. Personal data includes all data that can be used to personally identify you.

b. User Account
If you wish to use CIB Crowdsource, you must register via CIB doXisafe using an email address, a freely chosen username, and a password of your choice. There is no requirement to use your real name; pseudonymous use is possible. When you create a CIB Crowdsource account, we process the following data, which is technically necessary to provide you with access to the platform. The legal basis is Art. 6(1) sentence 1 point (b) GDPR:
- Username (if you choose your real name as your username)
- E-mail address
Your data will be treated confidentially by us and deleted if you revoke the rights to use the platform or if the data is no longer required to provide the services and no legal retention obligations exist. You can delete your CIB Crowdsource account. To delete your account, please contact cibsupport@cib.de.
c. Task: Handwriting
A task involves training AI (CIB deepER) to learn handwriting. For this purpose, the crowdsourcer is asked to write various terms digitally in handwriting. Before submitting the handwriting, you must explicitly consent to the processing of your handwriting sample. The legal basis for processing is Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR.
The data is treated confidentially, and no disclosure to third parties outside the CIB Group takes place. Within the CIB Group, access to handwriting samples is restricted to a limited, specially trained group of individuals. The data will only be deleted upon the user’s request, provided it is technically possible.
