The interaction between <a href=\"https:\/\/cibseven.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">CIB seven<\/span><\/strong><\/a>, an open workflow engine based on Camunda 7, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/a12.ai\/de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">A12 AI Low Code Platform<\/span><\/strong><\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mgm-tp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">mgm technology partners<\/span><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p><p>What matters here is not only which applications are used, but also how their technical components interact and how independently they can be operated. Since June 2025, mgm CIB has been using seven within the A12 platform. This integration illustrates how a standalone process engine can be integrated into an existing platform architecture without sacrificing its independence.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eee5dbd elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"eee5dbd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"> \n\nWhy Choosing the Right Workflow Engine Is Important <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b05484c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b05484c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The A12 AI Low-Code Platform takes a model-driven approach: Applications and processes are described using models, and the platform provides the technical foundation for their implementation. The models include, among others:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-296e17a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"296e17a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li>Data Models<\/li><li>Document Models<\/li><li>User Interface Models<\/li><li>Rule Models<\/li><li>Workflow Models<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f32e7fe elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f32e7fe\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFor a long time, mgm used Camunda 7 Community Edition to run workflows. When the open-source version was no longer available, the question arose of how to maintain the existing processes on an open-source technology platform with long-term development prospects.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-44e3ba5 elementor-section-full_width elementor-reverse-mobile elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"44e3ba5\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-no\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-4cdbe68\" data-id=\"4cdbe68\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-799cdd2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"799cdd2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"translation-block\">The choice fell on <strong>CIB seven<\/strong>, the open-source successor to Camunda 7, available under the <strong>Apache 2.0 license<\/strong>, making it an obvious alternative to Camunda 7. Therefore, it was not necessary to make adjustments to the existing code to replace the workflow engine. This demonstrates that it is possible to carry out technological modernization without having to develop solutions from scratch that have already proven their effectiveness.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3ce6592 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3ce6592\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Two components, clearly defined roles <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-dc46a7c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"dc46a7c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The collaboration between A12 and CIB seven is based on a clear division of responsibilities. A12 provides the platform for the model-based development of applications and processes. CIB seven handles the execution of the workflows defined within it.<\/p><p>The workflow engine remains a standalone component. It can be used within the A12 platform, but it can also be operated independently of it. This separation provides flexibility in designing the IT architecture and allows both the platform and the workflow engine to be further developed according to specific requirements.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a1ac947 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"a1ac947\"
