With CIB Group as exclusive sponsor, this year’s edition of the regional competition Jugend forscht Iberia took place under the motto “Make ideas big!” from February 15 to 17 at the German School Lisbon.
Active participation with 32 student projects
Fifty-one young researchers from ten German schools abroad on the Iberian Peninsula took part in the competition and presented a total of 32 projects to the jury in the M.I.N.T. areas of the world of work, biology, chemistry, geo and spatial sciences, mathematics, computer science, physics and technology. As in previous years, we continued the tradition and were represented by a juror in Lisbon: Our training supervisor Konrad Schmid took a lot of time to review the submitted project work. Ulrich Brandner, founder and owner of the CIB Group and managing director of our CIB compass, Unipessoal Lda. in Portugal, was also personally present at the presentation of the research projects and visited the exhibition stands with the team of jurors. With our active participation, we not only gained an insight into the lively events on site, but also got to know first-hand the many exciting project works of the students, among which our special prize was awarded afterwards.

Promoting young talent with CIB Impulsa
As part of the CIB Impulsa program, CIB promotes innovative ideas in the fields of research and technology and supports pupils and students on their way into professional life. In Spain and Portugal, CIB sponsors six German schools abroad, focusing on the promotion of M.I.N.T. subjects. As sponsors and partners of the Jugend forscht Iberia competition, we accompany the young researchers and continuously expand our cooperation with the schools based on this.
