CIB ridmi enables the automatic conversion of non-accessible documents and scans to the PDF/UA standard.
CIB ridmi uses a set of seven specialized machine learning models to correctly identify, interpret, and structure all elements of a document. These include models for recognizing headers and footers, lists, text hierarchies, and other elements that directly affect the final accessibility.

The output generated by ridmi achieves a “green” rating in the PAC PDF/UA Validator, ensuring compliance with the international standards PDF/UA and WCAG 2.1. This guarantees genuine, verifiable, and externally auditable accessibility.
CIB ridmi enables companies and public institutions to meet the legal requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) 2019/882 on digital accessibility. Full automation of the process reduces adaptation costs and ensures technical consistency.
CIB ridmi is the result of close collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR).
The project was supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research , which strengthened its scientific and technological basis as well as its long-term reliability.
To adapt AIs to the special requirements of the German language, we train them on an extensive German-language data set. The resulting AI models are tested by blind and visually impaired people.
