900 ATRUVIA banks and their Service Request Management (SRM+) migrate to CIB seven
With the end of life of Camunda 7, the ATRUVIA team was faced with the task of identifying a suitable successor solution in good time. The first approach was to evaluate Camunda 8. However, it became apparent early on that the new architecture and technologies used would entail a considerable migration effort. In addition, it was not yet clear at that point whether Camunda 8 would be able to cover the full range of functions offered by Camunda 7.
Due to these uncertainties, ATRUVIA decided not to pursue Camunda 8 and instead consider migrating to CIB seven.
Decision in favor of CIB seven
After a comprehensive review, ATRUVIA chose CIB seven. The decisive factors were the stability and flexibility of the solution, as well as the advantage of using CIB seven, a open source platform that ensures independence from proprietary manufacturers. In addition, CIB seven met all functional requirements for operating internal and external processes without the high cost of a complete migration to Camunda 8.
The SRM+ use case
ATRUVIA also relies on CIB seven to provide internal users with a powerful process engine. As part of this project, employees have the opportunity to develop, test, and approve processes independently. The application scenarios range from simple standard mailings to complex automations such as the migration of server operating systems. Additionally, users can develop their own user task interfaces and integrate them into the existing workflow.
SRM+ currently manages around 1,000 process definitions and just as many different user task processors—clear evidence of the system's flexibility and scalability.
Migration: from Camunda 7 to CIB seven
The migration to CIB seven was completed in an impressively short time. Throughout the entire process, there were no critical issues or obstacles that would have jeopardized the schedule. The quick and smooth implementation was a great success and confirmed that CIB seven was the right choice.
Initial experiences
After going live, CIB seven proved to be an extremely stable and reliable platform. There were no disruptions or technical problems during daily operation. The high performance and user-friendliness contributed to user satisfaction and ensured that processes ran efficiently and error-free, both internally and for external customers.
