May 9, 2025 - With the release of CIB seven 2.0, our open source platform for Business Process Management (BPM) takes a big step forward: In addition to a modernized user interface, support options for companies and authorities are now also available. CIB seven 2.0 completely replaces Camunda 7.23 and offers numerous advantages for all those who rely on a future-proof, open-source BPM solution.
Three new modules from CIB flow - now open source
For the first time, CIB provides central interface modules from the proven BPM platform CIB flow under an open-source Apache 2.0 license. The new components - Tasklist, Cockpit and Admin - replace the previous Camunda 7-based interfaces, which are still included in version 2.0 but are marked as obsolete.
The most important improvements:
In terms of technology, version 2.0 marks the departure from AngularJS in favor of modern web technology.
Full investment security: LTS and Enterprise versions
With CIB seven 2.0 organizations can plan their BPM strategy for the long term: In addition to the free community version, further versions are now available:
• The Community+ version includes access to security updates and selected support.
• The LTS version offers long-term support with extended services.
By the end of 2025, a comprehensive Enterprise version will also be released, covering all functions from Camunda 7 EE.
The license model remains deliberately simple: the price is based on the selected package and usage. This allows companies to calculate their costs at an early stage, without complicated offer negotiations.
Why CIB seven is the better choice
With the further development of CIB seven, we offer a modern, open-source alternative to Camunda 7, without vendor lock-in and without forced migration to new platforms. Existing projects can be easily transferred, supported by migration tools and comprehensive documentation.
Georg Hatzelmann, Managing Director of CIB software GmbH, emphasizes:gets to the heart of the matter:
“As of today, there are three more reasons to switch from Camunda 7 to CIB seven and not to even consider Camunda 8 or alternatives.”
We look forward to leading your BPM projects in the future together with you!
